A Melamine Placemat with design inspired by the wallpaper in Queen Victoria’s former bedroom at the Royal Pavilion.
The Queen Victoria’s Bedroom Wallpaper illustration depicts an intricate early 19th Century Chinese wallpaper reproduced painstakingly from fragments by Royal Pavilion conservator Gordon Grant. This yellow wallpaper hung in Queen Victoria's former bedroom at the Royal Pavilion until 2020 when was replaced with the room’s original, grey ground, wallpaper that had been mistakenly hung in the Saloon in the 1930s.
The placemat measures 28.8 cm x 21.8 cm and is part of a range of tableware inspired by the interiors of the Royal Pavilion, Brighton.
